What Happened to Bruce Springsteen?

Oh no! Bruce Springsteen's agreed to perform at halftime of the Super Bowl. Mrs. RSI takes this as a sign of the apocalypse and wonders if fire is going to rain down from the skies as the Boss cranks out "Born to Run". Does this mean that Springsteen's getting old, that he's just another Britney Spears (whose Super Bowl appearance was Awesomely Aweful), or that he's decided that the game's so boring that he might as well play? Maybe he just needs the cash. I hear 401 k's aren't doing that well these days.
