Give Michael Phelps a Break
So Olympic swim hero Michael Phelps was caught on the wrong end of a bong last weekend. Big deal. How many years did Phelps live like a monk getting up to swim every morning at 5:00am? He's been swimming competitively since he was seven years old in 1992. That's 16 years. I can give him a break if he's decided to catch up on some partying.

That looked like the right end of the bong to me, as I seem to recall.
Of course, consuming things from bongs can affect your memory. So you need to be sure.

I completey agree. It is clear that he worked his ass off to get where he is, and at that,beat every swimming record possible. I believe that he earned every thing he got, and smoking marijuana does not take away from that...
It's not like marijuana is exactly a motivating or a strength-enhancing drug... If anything I'd have to give him some props for what he achieved if he was at the time participating in such activities.
And yeah, I'd say he has earned a little bit of party/relaxation time..
