Today's my last full day in Philadelphia. A stop at the Van Pelt Library of the University of Pennsylvania, a seminar at the McNeil Center, hanging out a little with the historians, and then I start packing.
Hanging out with historians means drinking and last night I split a couple of pitchers with a great guy from Penn State. I don't I had more than 2 or 3 beers all year up to this point.
The sacrifices we make for our careers.

I'm assuming you've been to Philly before. It's awful in the heat. There are things I love about this city, but's it's hard to remember them when it's this hot!
I've been coming to Philadelphia since 1983, have lived here over three years, and just love it.
There have been three or four days when it's been hot over the last month, but this is the best summer weather I've ever seen here.
Actually, I probably feel more at home here than in Kentucky, but one has to follow their career.
Maybe after retirement.
