"It's Morning in America"--A Line for 2009

One of the most dishonest things about the right-wing is their claims to find precedents in Martin Luther King, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and other figures reviled by conservatives of their own times.

But I can see liberals stealing a line from GOP saint Ronald Reagan when a Democratic president is installed in January 2009.

"It's morning in America."

That's how David Iglesias responded to the resignation of Alberto Gonzales. I t will be even more true when all the Bushies are removed from office.

Does that mean it's evening in the land of delusion?

I'm sorry, did you reserve the right to interpret the precedents on those political figures? Do you maintain that right no matter how far left you move? I mean, how much intellectual Lincoln heritage can one claim when you're chumming it up with Chavez and Castro?

So, from now on, conservatives claim any individual having a direct influence on the Constitution or D of I. Take that Libby's! You know since all that stuff is so reviled by marxists which, under your broad brush standards, all you lefties are.

How do you plan on removing the Bushies from office?

I assume that they're going to leave office after their term is over. Perhaps that's a mistake.

Leave office? Not likely for totalitarian dictator GW Bush. He's already shredded the constitution afterall.

I'm glad to see that ef is hip to the damage Bush has done to constitutional government.

Why are Hillary and the rest out campaigning, if President Bush is going to establish a military dictatorship?

I imagine they don't know.

Cicero kept writing essays about the Republic, long after Anthony and Octavian had decided to do away with it (Cicero lost his head for his trouble). Plenty of loyalists to the British crown kept writing essays and pamphlets about returning the King's graces after the Concord and Lexington.

If George were planning to stay, he'd need to arrest them for sedition after another terrorist attack....so, I suppose, JD, if you think it's likely, I wouldn't be taking any trips East in the next year or so.

Persoanlly, I think George and his friends are far more clumsy and incompetent than they are evil. They bungle their terrorist attack and Hillary or Barrack would have some Yeltsin moment in front of the Congress....bringing in 20 years of Democratic election victories.

I suppose, since they're looking at 10 years, they might be willing to gamble.
